Common Sense about it all

With so many new diseases and so many new vaccines, it becomes scarier and scarier to live in the world today. I have seen it more than once where someone gets sick and goes to the doctor. The doctor gives them a prescription for an antibiotic, maybe a shot and an IV for prevention of dehydration and sends them on their way. Well, the person goes and get the prescription filled, gets some chicken soup, cough medicine and maybe some lozenges or something like that, goes home and lies down to rest and try and feel better so that they can either go back to work or school. Now even though the directions on the prescription of antibiotics clearly states on the label “Finish all of this medication. If you miss a dose take it as soon as possible. Do not drink alcohol while taking this medication”, guess what… they go home and fix a hot toddy to make their throat feel better. Mistake number one. Yeah they take the antibiotics. First day, second day, third day and maybe the forth. Then they feel better, then they stop taking the medicine because they feel as if the virus is gone. Mistake number two.
First off, drinking alcohol while taking antibiotics is plain freakin’ stupid. The doctor will tell you that drinking alcohol while taking antibiotics (we will call them AB’s for ease of typing) will make you sick to your stomach. No, that is not the case. Do your research! AB’s see the alcohol as an intruder and since it is stronger in your body than the actual virus, it will fight the alcohol instead leaving the virus or infection alone so that it is free to do its dirty work. Secondly, the AB was prescribed because there was a recommended dosage for a set amount of days that research has shown it takes to fully work and kill whatever it is that it was prescribed for. So, if you do not take all of it, the infection or virus mutates and the AB will not be as effective, if at all, as it was. Now you have a new breed of infection.
